DAY 5 The End
Kristel originally had a later flight home so we planned to hit the parks after checking out. Unfortunately she wasn't flying Southwest so her flight was changed.
We went to breakfast at the food court. I got the Bounty Platter with all bacon. I had a long day ahead of me. Kristel got an omelet. After we ate we headed back to the room to get my luggage. Kristel travels light with just a carry-on. I also checked out but made sure she could still get in the room. We said our good-byes and I headed to one last park.
My park of choice is normally MK but I went to EPCOT instead. First up - SE
A little sad with only one person in the pic. I then headed right over to The Living Seas with Nemo. I enjoy this pavilion. No wait time at all
very weird looking fish
Next up - Imagination
Moved on to WS
Some Baklava - very good but a little dry
Love the little details at the train display in Germany
The clock was ringing the hour
Rode Maelstrom and it got stuck
Mexico
I stopped in Germany to sample some F&W. The goulash soup was horrible. I threw it out after one taste. The strudel wasn't that bad. I didn't take any pics it was that bad.
I should have gotten the sausage pretzel as that was very good last year. I headed to
I got the kielbasa and Pierogie, and Golabki again.
Next up - Test Track. I did the single rider line
One final ride on SE
I got to the park around 9:30 AM and left by 2:30 PM. In that time I managed to do;
Spaceship Earth
Living Seas
Imagination
Maelstrom
Gran Tiempo
Test Track
Mission Space
Spaceship Earth
I circled the World Showcase two or three times. Took some pics, sampled some F&W food and bought a couple of things at the F&W souvenir booth. It was really crowded but as a single traveler I really managed to zip around.
I had a few texts from Kristel so I knew she had left and when she finally got home later that day. It was nice to know she had arrived safely.
I went back to ASMo and got something to eat. I didn't take any pics but I am fairly sure I got a chili cheese dog. I don't know why I crave them in Disney. I spent my Snack credits on some treats for the grandkids. Went to the gift shop and I bought some trick-or-treat bags for the kids also.
Soon I was sitting here
I was waiting for the Magical Depress ride back to the airport. I was supposed to be picked up around 4:30. I sat and waited, and waited, and WAITED! Finally I went into the front desk to see what was wrong.
I waited at the drop-off spot, not the pick-up spot.
Then I panicked for a second. I love Disney. The CM called ME and had me on the next bus to the airport. They could have told me I was out of luck, I needed to take a cab or find my own way. Nope They got me where I needed to be in plenty of time. This is one of the reasons they have such an early pick-up time. I am not alone. Many others have done this.
I went out to wait for the bus and looked at the ME sign, right by the buses to the parks. All was good and I was soon whisked away to the airport and my plane ride home. I called Jim when I landed and he was already on his way to get me. By the time I had my luggage he was waiting outside of Philly International.
With this my trip has ended.
Final thoughts - It was a great trip. I learned that I can travel alone. I have made really good friends and I hope to see you all again, some sooner than others but only because we are located closer together.
Scott thanks for a wonderful meal with friends and an amazing way to the end the night with the cruise around the lagoon.
Kristel - if you get on here and read this I hope I left nothing out. You were a great travel partner and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks for being such a great friend.
