The last week of June 2011, the Phibbles family went back to our happy place and had a nice Disney vacation. I never did a trip report for the outing, so I thought I would post a little photo synopsis here.
Since this trip happened soooo long ago, and I didn't take any notes, I will not be posting the events by date. Instead I will just focus on specific highlights of the trip in each update. Should still be fun for your disney-maniacs to read.

I will start at the beginning...why did we stay at DoubleTree Guest Suites? Because it was CHEAP! That's right, I am a fruggle boy at heart and can't resist a good deal. While reading one of my monthly Mousesaver's newsletters I saw a special offer for DoubleTree. We got the room and free breakfast for only $79 per night! ;D You can't do much better than that on Disney property. The hotel turned out to be very nice. Sadly, I never took photos of the room. But I do have photos of the pool that I can share with y'all. We had a very good experience with this hotel. Breakfast was a nice buffet. Cold was free for us, but we had the option to upgrae to hot selections for just a couple bucks, which was nice to have. My only "complaint" about the hotel was the bus. The bus for the parks comes twice per hour. They generally were always on-time, but I felt they could have done a better job of judging when a spill-over bus would be necessary. A couple times too many we couldn't fit on a bus and had to wait for a back-up bus to come and get us. It was also annoying the one time at Epcot when we missed the bus by 1 minute and then had to sit and wait 30 minutes for the next one. Oh, and then there was also the bus trip back to the hotel where the girl next to me VOMITED all over. And YES that includes all-over me! It was so gross and the stupid ass bus driver didn't do anything about it. Didn't kick them off the bus (since we hadn't left the park's lot yet), didn't help to clean anything up, didn't offer to get them off the bus ASAP. Nothing. It was so frustrating and my personal lowest moment on the trip.

Oh no! If that happened to me it would have started a puke fest! That is one thing I can't handle. Sorry to hear no one tried to help.

Ewww
I would have said something to the driver or posed for pic then emailed his pic to corporate complaining. LOL
The pool looks really nice.

The pool looks really nice. I would have complained, but I was a little busy trying to think of ANYTHING else. The pool was very nice and quiet most of the time. I enjoyed being on vacation and not surrounded by the usual Disney crazy.

Looks like a nice hotel. I would have been gagging the whole way! I can't believe the driver didn't do anything. That's a bio hazard.

Moving on from the gross... Our favorite park is Epcot (currently), so we spent a lot of time there this trip. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Epcot this trip. Lunch with a rat: Being in Canada(ish) on Canada Day: The Character Spot: Searching for our image on the monuments outside Spaceship Earth: Getting to watch the faux-Bon Jovi Band: My son's reaction to loud rock music: Via Nappoli (and Sangria): China: Test Track: And finally Base 21:

The bus thing EWWW! I have issues with that. I have a sympathetic stomach and would have joined in. I didn't even deal with my kids when they were sick, DH got that job.
That looks like you had a lot of fun. Two of my grandsons would not have liked the concert, they have loud noise issues.
How did you like Via Napoli? I ate there for the 1st time while down for the Ip Dip dinner.

We love Via Napoli. Been there twice and both times were delish! The family salad wasn't worth the expense, but the pepperoni pizza and aracini are worth every dollar.
(Sangria was good too. Just what we needed to forget a whining son)
